Reply #296: Even in a 'Democratic' year, the candidate must receive the support of Democrats

So many on the so-called 'progressive' side (I put it in quotes since I'm a progressive that has a different perspective) supported either Edwards or Kucinich. Edwards would have lost due to lying about an affair. Kucinich couldn't win even in a banner year for Democrats IMO. I'm really not sure who this magical Democratic (or any party for that matter) candidate is that could have won. And if you think Obama has difficulty in reaching consensus with a Senate tangled up in their byzantine rules, imagine President Kucinich. Not getting it done in my view - we're talking 2nd year lame duck from where I sit.
