19. I'd like to hear someone explain the Arizona government's excuse.
They claim that they "had to do something because the federal government wasn't enforcing illegal immigration."

Which is no license to violate the fourth amendment, so as a reason it fails utterly. A need to act is not license to act inappropriately; it cannot be.

And since these are almost all hard-working and productive people, Arizona is making money off them. That's an often forgotten truth: wealth comes from productivity, from labor. Illegal immigrants and legal immigrants alike to America tend as a rule to work their sorry butts off, which means this much-demeaned class of people are generating wealth for America. Lots of it, actually, because they work cheap. Myself, I wouldn't mind if all Latinos left the state for exactly a year, and watch Arizona's economy tank. That would be funny.

But you and these thousands of American Latinos who are going to Arizona to fight, directly, against this folly are absolutely in the right and I support you. Try, when there, to spend your money among the community as much as possible; don't let the richest Arizonans make more profit out of this.
