The convicted killer of a Kansas abortion provider has filed a petition complaining of his treatment in prison and seeking his release.

A hearing on Scott Roeder's habeas corpus petition is scheduled for June 4 before Judge Timothy Henderson in Wichita. A habeas corpus petition requires that a judge determine whether the government can continue to hold a prisoner.

The court docket shows Roeder filed the initial paperwork himself in February. His court-appointed attorney, Michael Brown, could not immediately be reached for comment.

Hey kids, don't want to end up like Scott Roeder? Always remember to...

Not treat Randall Terry like he's some sort of prophet
Not murder a doctor in a church, while waving your gun around after you do it
Not treat organisms as being worth only as how FEW cells they have in their bodies
