One reason I hate the insurance industry . .

The Doctor billed the Insurance Co. $1000.00
The Insurance Co. PAID the Doctor $180.00
The Doctor was "OK" with that.

Ok, kids. What would happen to YOU if you sent the Doctor $180 to cover a $1000 debt?

Now I know that it seems ungrateful of me to bitch, since I had no "out of pocket" expense. But it is SO CLEAR that the uninsured and under insured are carrying the insurance companies on their backs, and that those least equipped to shoulder the expense are precisely those who suffer under this system.

This is why a SINGLE PAYER health care system is what we need. . not an "affordable insurance for all" system.
