"It's pot, people, not the right to vote. If it bothers you that much that it is illegal, find a new hobby."

There are hundreds of thousands of nonviolent people in jail for marijuana sale, possession, 'manufacturer', etc. It is a huge drain on governmental budgets, not to mention, for many of these 'criminals', it IS in fact the right to vote being lost. The drug war is basically another for-profit industry, and the focus on pot of all things makes it that much more absurd.

It's a lot more than 'hey man, I like smoking weed'. It's a huge national policy issue.

eta: and the law disproportionately affects minorities and the poor - not very many middle class white kids swinging bags in college get caught or get in serious trouble if they do...

It's major injustice.
