The Red Sox had not won a world series since Babe Ruth played for them--until 2004, when Schilling pitched, even though his stitched foot was bleeding.

Anyone who lives in Massachusetts and does not know that is about as out of touch as it gets. You cannont watch TV, listen to radio or read newspapers in this state without knowing about Schilling, even if you'd rather not know.

I'd have to look askance at someone who did not know that, and I could care less about sports, and could not know less if I tried.
