and Democratic complacency, but the controversy they've raised seems to be energizing the base and stimulating a large turnout.

One observation on the large number of campaign calls I've been receiving for the last three days: every single call from the Brown campaign has been an automated robo-call recorded by Brown or his daughter, while most of the Coakley calls have been a live volunteer and about half of their recorded calls have been an endorsement from a political "celebrity" like Barak Obama or Bill Clinton.

And for what it's worth, my wife was just polled with questions on a long list of position statements.
