21. because they don't care
the people sitting on their ass at the movies and playing video games every weekend are not the people who get out in nature, they don't even know it exists, when i was active in the science fiction c ommunity years ago i hate to say it but i saw way too many "emo" kids who were completely wrapped up in fake worlds with not a thought in their heads that they could meet real "alien" species with completely different lives just by getting outside -- they didn't value any real living species other than maybe cats, they lived completely in their heads and thus had exaggerated emotions, depressions, etc.

when you get outside and have real experiences, you don't kill yourself over a movie or because your character in an online game got wiped...

this is just hype to promote a game and a movie

science fiction is fine but once you cross a line where you'd rather watch someone else have adventures than have your own adventures then it becomes fairly pathetic
