35. I agree with your philosophy...it's the only way...
The only way we are going to take back our democracy from these corporatist bastards, is
to join forces with people of all political stripes.

I used to think that we needed to unite with the tea partiers. I mainly thought that because
they are all ready organized. However, as many are pointing out, they are fueled by corporatists.
I think many of the members are sick of the corporatism (like we are), but in the end--Dick
Armey and other sickos are at the helm.

I think this has to be an entirely new movement. It should start out as a bipartisan effort. It
should start out with voices from all sides--united. It should start out with leaders who acknowledge
that we are unlikely bedfellows--but essential bedfellows.

I think it would be compelling and effective to start a movement that agrees on some basic principles,
such as campaign-finance reform, getting the corporations out of our government, term limits, election
reform, and ending the cycle of corporate-campaign-donations that translate into kow towing by our politicians.

I think our entire country is hungry for someone to stand up and say, "If we don't take back our government
and restore democracy--then we all lose. We need to set aside our differences and our social agendas and
come together to bring back a government "by the people, for the people and of the people." After we
have a functioning democracy again, we can all go back to arguing, but for now--we have to restore what
our Forefathers initially created."
