28. I was one of the lucky ones
who never had much of a problem with menstruation, so when it became apparent, in my mid 40s, that I was peri-menopausal, I was very depressed for a long time.

That whole "losing my youth" thing, you know.

Now that I'm on the other side of menopause, it's not a big issue. Like you said, one less annoying thing to deal with, but in my case, only because the getting here was a huge hassle.

Perimenopause lasted more than ten miserable years, and the "flooding" and hot flashes and everything else that can happen were hell.


God, at times I thought I was my own evil twin.
