to deliver assistance to them.. I thought.."Gee, why not GIVE the family the $46K, and the 'problem' goes away".

But then the "web" of people on the payroll in the "delivery mode" become unemployed.. THAT'S why ...There are MILLIONS of people who work for the gubbmint, and the patronage system that exists would have to be scaled way back. Successful candidates have those jobs to hand out to their buddies, as payback.

Take Homeland Security.. That whole agency was a payback to ridge, who was assured that he would be the veep...and then he wasn't.

There was NO reason for the department.

We already HAVE everything it supposedly was created to do, covered. We have a defense dept (not a very good one though) we had FEMA (pre-ruination)..
