117. Is the OP "generally supportive of progressive ideals"?
Edited on Wed Dec-09-09 02:14 PM by omega minimo
or did he skip that part of the Rule he is invoking and go right to "Mainstream Democrats, like me, are being abused for being mainstream Democrats. This is unacceptable."

"Mainstream Democrats, like me" whatever that is. You mean "mainstream Democrats" minus the "generally progressive ideals" of those who are continuously treated as if their values and votes don't matter? As if they have no other options? As if -- if they consider or call for more options (or more progressivism within the Dem party) they "may as well be supporting Republicans" and "have more in common with "conservatives" than I care to see."

"I am offended that these people can come here, to Democratic Underground, and be so intolerant of people like me who simply want to work within the existing framework to move pretty much the same agenda that these people support."

Looks like the OP is the one being intolerant and claiming that "existing framework" exclusively for people "like me."

The full quote from Forum Rule #2: "Members are expected to be generally supportive of progressive ideals, and to support Democratic candidates for political office."
