2. The Catch-22
It's that cash from the lobbyists that help them stay in office...paying for the endless campaigns. Next year it will cost at least $1 million dollars per house seat and $10-20 million for the Senate. This money comes from somewhere and sadly it's not the netroots. That money also buys a lot of "speech" on the teevee and does make a difference in elections. Now if you can find a way to legally pass campaign finance reform and find ways to finance challengers then you're headed in the right direction. I'm all for challenging Conservo-Dems with well funded and organized liberals and Progressives, but I'm also leery of installing the same purity tests and other games that the GOOP are employing. While not ideal, a Democratic controlled Congress is far preferable to letting Boner and McConnell have any control of the country's agenda.
