68. Lot of Dems seem to be making a bad bet.
Namely that as long as they do something for ordinary Americans--no matter how little--they'll clean up at the next election because ordinary Americans will know that Republicans would not consider their interests at all. But there comes a point where gratitude for what Democrats do for most Americans is outweighed by disgust at cramming money in banksters' pockets, giving pharma a sweetheart deal in healthcare reform, and similar catering to corporate interests. At that point where the gratitude and disgust lines intersect, the Republicans' old stop-the-spending-and-cut-taxes argument comes in. As shitty an argument as it is, it could secure gains for the GOP in 2010 if not enough stimulus goes to ordinary goddamn Americans. Democrats, get on the ball.
