Seems like most people so far are defending the rich and I don't understand why, but that's exactly why we won't ever get anywhere.

It's not about our status compared to the third world, it's not about how if we have electricity we're "rich" and are included in your category. I'm not talking about it costs more to live in some cities than others. I'm talking about incomes that are so high that no matter where you live, you're obviously fucking rich. You could have a catastrophic health crisis, lose everything you own, and not even blink because you could easily afford to go out and replace it all with cash. THAT kind of money.

If someone is making several million dollars a year and not giving a significant amount of money back to help the poor, and are fighting even paying a fair share of taxes, then yeah FUCK THE RICH. I doubt there are many, if any, people like that posting here on DU - I'm not sure if any of them are in politics - but those are the people who are the real enemy to our progress.
