11. This is Rev Jim Wallis' e-mail campaign he spoke about on Steph's show

Rev Wallis called into to the Stephanie Miller show and spoke to John Fuglesang (sub-hosting that day) about this e-mail campaign to target these blowhard hosts and their corporate sponsors re: health care reform lies. It was really an interesting conversation between Fuglesang and Wallace.

Here's the suggested text of the letter to Blechkkk:

Because you are in a position to influence public perception, I pray for you to consider the real impact of our current health-care system on families.

I am so happy that your daughter Mary has turned out to be a miracle for your family, but you are wrong when you say that reform would euthanize other children like her. In fact, it's our current system that too often fails families in need. Consider Mila's story:

Mila's parents just found out that their daughter, who is due in December, has a tumor in her head the same size as her brain. Significant brain damage is near certain by the time she is delivered. She's been given a 15 percent chance of survival, and doctors have already suggested abortion.

The expenses of a complicated pregnancy will cost her parents 20 percent of their modest income, in addition to their insurance. Unfortunately, when they reach their $250,000 cap, they must pay all additional expenses. The multiple brain surgeries and the additional care she may need are likely to spell deep financial trouble.

But their worries don't stop there. Since her parents receive their insurance through the mother's university, her coverage will end in August when she completes her Ph.D. After that, with the possibility of Mila's severe pre-existing conditions, they may not be able to get any coverage at all.

Mila's parents do not fear a future where a government bureaucracy forces them to kill their child. Their fear is much more immediate: If by a miracle their child survives beyond the womb, will they be able to afford the care she'll need once the insurance coverage ends?

Mr. Beck, I am praying for you - praying that you will use your voice to stand up for families like Mila's who need reform to ensure they can have their own "miracle children."

All of the reform proposals being debated include provisions to cap out-of-pocket expenses, end exclusions for pre-existing conditions, and eliminate coverage limits - removing the financial pressures that currently lead many families to terminate difficult pregnancies.
