It's misty-eyed lying. Self mythologizing. Like a lot of older guys, who while they weren't actually there, claimed to be at Normandy. And THAT'S really pathetic. At least those guys who were actually at Normandy contributed to defeating Hitler. The real members of Woodstock Nation couldn't even defeat Nixon.
