And my father always used the word. It sucked, but that's how things were. You should be glad that you knew your grandmother and that she loved you, and focus on that instead of some word that she used. While the word is ignorant, that's what it was when she used it, ignorance, but that doesn't mean she loved you any less. I think dwelling on some word she used is sad. I don't miss my father any less because he happened to say the N word occasionally. He didn't hate anyone, except for the piece of shit that killed his horses. I'm sorry that you focus on a word your grandmother used to use instead of the love that she gave you. That is really sad, and I'm sorry. I'm not saying it was ok that they used those words, but it was more ignorance than hate, so I don't focus on that.
