The DOCTOR is the one that denied the place on the list thereby denying the procedure...not the healthcare "system".
Personally I want ANY bureaucrat out of my healthcare. The only ones in the room need to be myself and the doctor and the discussion of the best possible outcomes.
I'm sorry that this young man died. It might or might not have been a waste of a liver. It's hard to say.
However...the fact that it was EVEN a doubt that he might not be able to follow the rigorous regimen required of someone who has received a GIFT of life should disqualify him on the outset UNTIL such a time that he could follow the regimen. The fact that he died during that process is regrettable, but in no way reflects poorly on the process.
