Sadly it indicates that per relationships (even parental ones) it is all about him. He doesn't want the guilt. I would be mad, too. However, he is your dad and if you are going to have a relationship in the future you will have to learn to navigate around his now laid bare flaws (not just the affair (s?), but around this self-centered view of the world.)
