My parents, brothers and I watched the Jackson 5 grow up on the Ed Sullivan show, never missed an episode of Charlies Angels, and every night I listened from my bed to hear Ed McMahon shout "her-r-r-r-r-r-e's Johnnie!" because I knew it would be soon followed by my parent's laughter. It always made me smile. Both of my parents are gone now, but I still have these memories.

These events are sad. But not so much because of the loss of their celebrity and talent as of the passing of youth, family and friends. At least for me.
