And anything that they're not interested in is automatically something the rest of us shouldn't care about. Of course, that's followed by the equally idiotic idea that, by caring about such things at all, we're obsessing exclusively about them.

The wannabe commissars around here whenever a significant pop-culture news story shows up are a little disturbing.
