I mean...I think of myself as an amateur buddhist, even though I plan to go to Good Friday services tonight (always found them extremely moving). I haven't been a conventional church-goer for a very long time, but when I was we were taught about stewardship, love, caring for others, caring for God's creation, etc. It was not a lefty church (mainstream lutheran), but we were never taught that God had given us the green light to destroy the natural world and treat everyone of other faiths like crap. I respect my Xian upbringing and I cannot paint all Xians with a broad, negative brush.
