Newsflash: the internet - and I say this with the full knowledge of whatever irony is inherent in this post - especially the web 2.0 / Social Media aspect, is nothing more than a magnificent time-suck if you don't have a product to sell.

If you lack assets and connections and want to get ahead - really get ahead? Cancel your account and spend the 3 + hours of leisure time you waste on the internet to do something that makes you money, or, even better - spend it in offline social activity with your friends outside the house, or family inside OR outside.
