It's like going to protest somewhere and shouting 'Do what's right!' over and over. All it says is that you feel passionately about something, but haven't taken the trouble to articulate why. This is why I avoid most mass protests: more often than not the slogans are meaningless, and chanting slogans reduces complex issues to simplistic yes or no propositions. I strongly feel it's time for Americans to adopt a more substantive kind of discourse, one which does not so much resemble a kindergarten.

I am not saying that the issues being protested about are juvenile, but the manner in which those protests are expressed.
