At that time, we all wondered after the Democrats came to power in 2006 why there were no hearings on torture and other things related to Iraq -- why impeachment was off the table.
Many Dems became complicit in the crimes by having knowledge of it or should have. At that time, we did conclude that not pursuing investigations involved some kind of self-preservation, if not outright blackmail. So, when Pelosi's candor has now come into question, why is it surprising?
Again, Pelosi could bring it all out by having hearings. She is Speaker. She won't because she knew. Pelosi, and others, gave the Bush admin "cover."
They knew.
We knew. We know.
