38. For some denominations, it does
Edited on Mon May-11-09 03:22 PM by Rob H.
I have a friend who was trying to get a teaching gig at a local Southern Baptist megachurch to do some leadership training, and she almost didn't get the job because there were going to be male students in the class. For the Southern Baptists, it's okay for men to teach men and women, and okay for women to teach women, but a woman teaching men? Nope. That's also why they don't allow female pastors.

Full disclosure: She did get the job, but only after finding a Bible verse that apparently made it okay.
