more than anti-slavery. When I first started looking at this guy, it was confusing because he seems to do stuff that is commendable. But when you look closer, his "good works" follow a sort of Cold Warish pattern of finding fault with his "enemies".

It's funny that wiki gives his pedigree in those terms. Translation: his family is old Venezuelan aristocracy and they want to make sure you know they are Spanish and Norwegian without a drop of indigenous or black blood. :)
