since reading a lot of this thread:

I have a personal gripe about the word "bash".
It's been in common usage since at least the time when Kerry ran for President
It's mostly used to dismiss other viewpoints and derail real discussion.
I have been (at least what feels like being) shouted down, countless times with the bashing meme.
The reason I bring this up, is that those of us (generally the further left lefties) who
try to discuss aspects of policy that we feel are important, hit up against this wall.
It can become quite grading, and I understand when people get pissed off.
Of course I am not saying ban the word bash, but doesn't it have a similar effect as calling someone a bot?
basher or bot?
