El Pomar Foundation has lured the nation's largest Christian radio ministry - and possibly 800 jobs - to Colorado Springs with a $4 million grant, foundation chairman William Hybl announced Thursday.
James Dobson's Focus on the Family - a 13-year-old Pomona, Calif.-based ministry that emphasizes traditional family values - plans to buy at least 50 acres of land along Interstate 25 using the grant, said Paul Nelson, executive vice president of Focus on the Family, in a telephone interview.
The ministry has a $27 million payroll, and Nelson said he expects about half its 750 employees to move to Colorado Springs. After the move, the ministry will hire 425 employees here, expanding
