I got a bill for $1 for the interest on the late fee, even though I paid the late fee on time.
In my case, I received the bill late in the mail, and perhaps made the mistake of telling them that. Years past, Chase had been really friendly and responsive, so I thought it would be no big deal.
Finally, one of the guys I talked to said, "Frankly, this is the only way we can make money."
I'll be really pissed off if they ding my credit record for a single late payment, too.
Anyway, I'll look forward to meeting you when the class action lawsuits begin. Of course, Chase won't be around by then.
