130. Dr Martin Luther King Jr was a liberal republican
also Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. An era I now think of as "the good ol' days" of the GOP :D

Alas, in the modern era, the GOP is the party of David Duke, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Admiral Poindexter etc etc ad nauseum. Sick & tired of 'em, I am, the whole rotting bunch. Smacks of 1984: to protect freedom, we must destroy freedom; to protect liberty, we must restrict liberty. Horsefeathers!

Tired of seeing grannies and WWII vets shaken down for nail clippers at airports.

Tired of a health industry that spends billions and billions on elective cosmetic surgeries, but can't afford to provide an MD general practitioner in needy neighborhoods, then told that the idea of socialized medicine is somehow "unfair"

Tired of a party that gets anti-gay-marriage issues put on the ballot solely to ensure the cretins come out of the woods to vote on election day

All things considered, I think Dr King, Teddy, & Honest Abe would choose to be Democrats in this day & age.
