This past weekend seemed to be a contest to see how much profanity could be spewed from the brain-holes of some OPers. It really stunk up the place.

Then there are the aging cheerleaders who post a two line OP that says nothing more than "Yay, Obama!! Isn't he just the greatest?". And then they post another OP begging for recs because no one got them on the "Greatest" page the first time around.

I have been thinking of asking Skinner to open a "sand-box" forum for those who think spewing profanity and leading mindless cheers for the obvious are worthy pursuits. Not me.

As I posted several times last week (and once today), this spike in profanity is taking me back to my 18 months in a federal Bureau of Prisons facility where profanity (particularly "f***" and "m*****-f*****") was part of every sentence. On those rare occasions when I could get on-line back then, DU was a refuge from all that. Not any more.

I really suspect that folks who post that incessant verbal diarrhea or rah-rah mindlessness are doing it to discredit this forum, and nothing more. That, or they're suffering some serious arrested development (since the posts in "m*****-f*****" OPs are almost always of the "Dude, that was, like, awesome!!" sub-genre).

Again, thanks for this OP. It needs to be said, now and anytime the potty-mouths and "rec me please" numb-skulls start to predominate.
