159. That was the McCaughey family...
And they used the injectable drugs that caused follicular hyper-stimulation. Their OB diagnosed that she'd produced at least 6 ova that could be seen on the ultrasound and they were advised to "scrub" (cancel) that cycle. They chose instead to go home and have sex, resulting in the development of 7 fetuses. This little gem of info was revealed by doctors during the initial publicity surrounding their case, but since then the McCaughey's have done all they can to avoid letting that be publicly known...

As for their kids, two were diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. The boy with CP (mostly just lower limb involvement) is far less effected than the girl with CP, who has full limb and trunk involvement. Both are capable of walking with braces and/or walkers and have responded considerably well to conventional treatments for CP. One of the other girls did have some intense feeding issues, needing G-tube feedings until around age 3-4 years. She's since been otherwise completely healthy.

And yes, I completely agree with you on the hypocrisy of playing the "god's will" card in such an obviously selective manner...
