17. Sounds like this woman did the cheap version of invitro -
where the doctor just gives her a series of hormone shots designed to stimulate her egg production -- as many eggs as possible, with no limitation on the number of potential blastocysts. She then has sex and whatever happens happens. This is much cheaper than real invitro, where the eggs are harvested and then returned after fertilization. The cheap route is how most of the "litter" births are caused. A responsible woman who goes through this cheap porceedure usually has a few of the developing fetuses removed at some point to allow the remaining ones to have a getter chance at a healthy delivery.
