So about that war crimes thing

It's a given that Bush, Cheney and their fellow criminals will never be held to account for their crimes -- in our country.

However, other countries have laws that would permit their being arrested and tried for war crimes.

It's unlikely this will happen as Bush, Cheney and the rest will avoid traveling to such countries (as has war criminal Henry Kissinger).

So here's my question. In the unlikely event that Bush or Cheney should travel to a civilized country, be arrested and put on trial for war crimes, should President Obama intercede on their behalf?

I personally believe he should let them rot in whatever prison they might end up in if they are convicted. But that isn't my call -- or yours.

If this unlikely scenario were to occur, would/should a sitting president step in to help out a former president (and his fellow criminals)? Would "the most powerful country in the world" allow an ex-president (and his cronies) to be imprisoned in a "foreign" country? Would Americans stand for it?
