18. Fwiw, if this is a Soc. Sec. claim, my husband got turned down twice too
before getting 100% disability. What I'm saying is, it's not unusual to be turned down first. I did his claim by following the directions on the forms, asking a lot of questions on the phone, and calling in some help by way of a little oversight on it from my Federal representatives - one in particular (Sen. Mikulski) was a tremendous help in cutting through the red tape. Some are great, and some not so much, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I also did his VA claim too which was very similar, and he got rated 100% on that too but it took longer. If it's VA though, there is a very good bb for information from other vets. It's called the Veterans' Benefits Network on Yuku (formerly EZ Board)...
