54. The unions work in the freest of free markets, the labor market. If the labor provided by UAW
wasn't valuable enough, they would be replaced. When they formed the union the big three would have said go have your union we'll just hire people off the street to replace you. The companies know that can't be done and negotiate with the workers in the form of their union.

There is nothing antiquated about a free market for labor.
