56. According to my profile,
I joined in January 2004 and I recall wanting to comment on a certain post. I know I had been lurking for quite some time before that. My favorite sites were Crooks and Liars, BuzzFlash, Democrats.com, Truthout, and DU, but like you I was only information gathering, not contributing.

With this election, DU has been my primary watering hole. It seems to serve most of my needs. I drop the other places now and then, but not often.
