And that is not, in any way, the point of my OP, nor is it what I said.

I'm not even demanding that everybody LIKE Obama's proposal (though I think it has the potential to be exactly what we need); what I'm poking at is that nobody's discussing it at all9/u].

Don't like? Then let's discuss it. But let's at least acknowledge the proposal and start a dialogue.
