...after working all day at the crappy paying McJobs, you try to find something on food stamps that allows $1.19 each per meal that fills your belly. You can stretch things a little with a family but a meal for three is still not enough at $3.57. The cheapest things you can find that feed everyone are pastas, beans, rice, all starchy. You might throw in a sprig or two of broccoli or a ham hock if you are lucky. Eating healthy is expensive. Just look at the rich versus the poor and you will see what I mean. In France they eat lots of butter, creams, rich things, but they are not fat on the average ~ and the4ir lifestyles are not based on working their asses off 24/7 like Americans are expected to do. The poor cannot afford gastric bypasses and sush, they just die younger is all.
