It is almost certain that election day -- next Tuesday, November 4 -- will be the busiest day ever for Democratic Underground. To prepare for the high traffic, we have recently increased our total number of servers from four to six, and we have made a number of changes to our software. But there is still a good chance that these changes will not be enough to adequately handle the massive spike in traffic on election night. In the event that a massive influx of visitors to Democratic Underground overwhelms our servers and makes it impossible for anyone to access our website, we may be forced to take extraordinary measures to stay online. We may need to limit access to the website so only registered members may read and post -- leaving unregistered visitors blocked out. And in the worst-case scenario, we may have to limit access to donors only.

DON'T GET BLOCKED OUT! If you are not a registered member of DU, please register. If you are registered, make sure you know your DU password. And if you are a donor, make sure your donor status is up-to-date.
