| Beat me up! But here is why I oppose jailing Ted Stevens |
|
Ted Stevens should have been convicted. Ted Stevens should lose his Senate seat.
I am not quite as old as Senator Stevens, but like Stevens, I have seen a president be party to the greatest political corruption in history and reduce the entire country to shame that is still unparalleled and he and most of HIS MAJOR PLAYERS did not go to jail--only a few did who went on to write books and host talk shows and become megamillionaires.
What can I say about the Bush/Cheney/Rove scenario? Theft of elections? Murder of Americans? Murder of Iraqis? Torture? Arguing that waterboarding is not torture?
Would you agree that this merely is a minor scratch to the surface of the Bush corruption?
Senator Stevens did not report honestly about some gift style items. He is an octogenarian- he should not go to prison. (And to be consistent, I have never thought tax evasion imprisonment was just compared to other sentences).
This is some of the waking up America must do if it is to survive beyond my lifetime.

So, in your opinion, 80+ year olds should be allowed to accept bribes freely. (nt) |

So, 80 year olds should accept bribes but then should give part of the bribe to the government? (nt) |
