Just heartbreaking in every single way.

And this must be awful for the poor kid who kicked the football--it wasn't his/her fault any more that it was mine, but there's no way he or she isn't feeling guilty right now.

And it REALLY puts the whole recession thing into perspective. It makes me realize how pathetically trivial most of my concerns are. (I'm not talking about the concerns of those in dire straits, who don't have money for food or who are being evicted--I'm talking about how I've been fretting about the unpleasant yet survivable fact that our retirement fund is a shadow of its former self. Big deal... our kids are okay.)

I am grieving for his parents--they've had their entire world yanked out from under them. And for poor Austin, to lose his life so suddenly and so young... :cry:
