117. So if I follow you, Stephens' probably stipulated that Clinton had to bury the BCCI
investigation in return for the $4.5 million payola? That would explain the inexplicable decision by Clinton to let Poppy's crimes (his link to BCCI would be one crime, Iran/Contra another etc. etc.) sink underwater. I know $4.5 mill is a lot of cash but (in the scheme of things) it doesn't seem like enough cash if you get my drift. I concede that the $4.5 mill was critical to getting Clinton into the White House and so perhaps to Clinton it was important but overall, it's small change imho.

Scooter Libby finagled the Marc Rich pardon on behalf of the BFEE/Cheney consortium - I wonder if that pardon was Clinton's entry fee into the dark side. Kind of like the mafia where the new guys have to kill someone to be "in", Clinton had to commit this incredibly public, egregious wrong to demonstrate how far he was willing to go be a member?

And what does Chelsea do at ACG? It's interesting that ACG got involved in debt re-structuring for Asia just as she was brought on board, and even more suspiciously ACG has just been tagged to provide their services (cough) for China.

I just find something really creepy and yes, even sinister, with the whole newfound love between Poppy and the Big Dog.

Just thinking out loud here. Thanks for jumping in!
