89. My take on this
Criticizing Obama for something is one thing. Throwing childish fits because he won't push the progressive agenda 100% and threatening NOT TO VOTE is something entirely different.
Like it or not progressives are a MINORITY in this country..If someone as liberal as Kucinich was the nominee..It wouldn't even be close..McCain in a landslide..This is a purple country...Most people are centrist, middle of the road..they WANT the parties to work together. Most people aren't particularly bothered by FISA..So why should we expect that Obama would not try to appeal to the majority?
My Uncle does polling..I am well aware of the electorate tendencies in this country.
I am a political pragmatist. If that makes me evil in the eyes of some DU'ers so be it. I've seen what happens with one party rule..and I think its time to have other voices..Even if I don't ever 100% agree with some voices.
Besides, considering I think Dems will have a LARGE majority in Congress come November, I think there is gonna be a chance to work on undoing a lot of the damage. Obama can move as far "right" as he wants..and I'll still take him over McCain anyday.
Principles are all and good, but when the vast majority of people in the country don't SHARE them..You have to compromise, or else your principles are all you have..and you can't eat or pay the mortgage with them.
