Believe me, what my gut knows about McCain makes me personally assume this is true. However, the skeptic in me, and the person who has seen plenty of politicians smeared by accusations like these that are hard to verify - makes me want more information before I go blanketing my conservative friends with this.

It seems helpful that apparently McCain doesn't deny making the comments, saying only that "it had been a long day."
