17. Not entirely. GM made large cars and SUVs because people wanted them.
Ford, Lincoln, Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, etc all made similar monsters BECAUSE THEY SOLD WELL.

You want to blame someone? Blame Congress for selling-out to auto and fuel lobbyists and not inforcing higher fleet standards.
