wind farms, off-shore or on-shore? I think the modern wind turbine is the ultimate in form fitting function. Is it the notion that anything man-made is ugly? Is it because anything associated with technology or industry is ipso facto ugly? Is it NIMBY run amok?
Mountain top clearing to get coal - that's ugly.
Exposing miners to uranium to power nuclear power plants, that's ugly.
Putting power plants in poor regions to ship the power to wealthier ones, that's ugly.
