If they begin to comprehend that something they're railing against is, in fact, normal it upsets their world view and makes their heads hurt.
Their ranting and raving also reveals that they might have a little trouble with empathy too. They sure aren't putting themselves in the shoes of another and trying to see the world from the people they're persecuting, are they?
I also like to remind these morons that gay marriage helps the economy. And in more ways than their little heads can imagine. First, it helps governments because they collect marriage license fees. It helps businesses because people can have wedding receptions which means caterers, pastry chefs and liquor stores all get an increase in sales. Plus, it helps our transportation and hotel industries. Often people like to take time off and celebrate the marriage of their loved ones by attending the wedding. This means they fly and have to find places to stay. Also, recently married couples like to have honeymoons. Then there are gifts and clothes.
More importantly, now that people can get married, they can add their partner to their insurance policies and this helps reduce health care costs for a lot of couples. This means that one partner may be taken off of state aid or it can mean that instead of paying for two different insurance policies that couples can decide which health care plan to purchase and they might end up saving money, thereby freeing it up to spend on things they want (like food and gasoline). And these are just a few of the ways a state's can economy improve because of gay marriage.
